FAQs about pellet stoves
Do pellet stoves need a chimney?
No — pellet stoves don't need a traditional chimney. Because they use a fan-assisted forced draught, they can be vented through a twin wall flue running up an external wall or out through the roof, which makes them a practical option in newer, well-sealed homes. All of the pellet stoves we stock are compatible with standard 80mm pellet flue systems, and we supply the twin wall flue components to go with them. Our team in the Drogheda showroom can talk you through the flue route before you buy.
What size pellet stove do I need?
As a rough guide, divide the room's volume in cubic metres by 14 to get the kW output you need — so a 4m × 5m room with a 2.4m ceiling needs around 3.5kW. Older or poorly insulated homes will need more, newer builds less. Our pellet stoves range from 4kW up to 11kW, and you can filter this page by output to narrow it down.
