Who makes Stanley stoves, and why are Bilberry models listed here?
Stanley stoves come from Waterford Stanley, which has been casting heating appliances at its foundry in the Bilberry area of Waterford since 1936. That is also why you will see Bilberry badged stoves such as the Nore and the Suir on this page: Bilberry is one of Waterford Stanley's own brands and forms the entry point to the range. Everything we stock meets Ecodesign 2022 and is DEFRA approved. If you are comparing Irish brands, our Henley stoves are built in Co. Kerry.
Which Stanley stoves will heat radiators and hot water?
The boiler models. We stock the Stanley Erin at 14.2kW, and the Fern and Reginald at 15.5kW, all multi fuel and all Ecodesign. A boiler stove sends part of its output to your cylinder and radiators and the rest into the room it sits in, so how many radiators it will carry depends on the model and on your existing system. What is the difference between the Cara insert and the Solis cassettes?
The Cara is a 6.5kW insert that beds into the chimney breast and shows a cast frame and door, and it comes in plain, glass fronted and black enamel versions. The Solis I5 and I8, at 5kW and 8kW, sit further back in the opening behind a slim frame for a flush, contemporary look. Both are multi fuel and both need a properly lined flue.
