In Ireland, a standard chimney pot measures 8 inches internal diameter. This is the most popular sized chimney pot in Ireland. Some chimney pots measure 9 inches internal diameter and this Anti Bird / Anti Rain Chimney Cowl will also fit this size.

The SHL Anti Bird / Anti Rain Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ will stop birds nesting in your chimney  – it has a robust cage type stainless steel mesh housing that will prevent this.
The Anti Bird / Anti Rain Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ also protects your chimney against rain and moisture penetration – suitable for chimneys that are in use or chimneys that are used infrequently or those that are not used at all.

The Anti Rain / Anti Bird Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ is available in Black, Stainless Steel or Terracotta colours.

What the Anti Bird / Anti Rain Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ will not do:
The Anti Rain / Anti Bird Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ will not prevent a downdraught in your chimney – the Spinner Anti Down Draught Chimney Cowl or the Static Anti Down Draught Chimney Cowl will prevent a downdraught.
The Anti Rain / Anti Bird Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ will not create an up-draught or increase the performance of the chimney.
The Anti Bird / Anti Rain Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ will not completely prevent severe driving or horizontal moving rain often experienced on the coast or in elevated positions – the Static Anti Downdraught Chimney Cowl will prevent driving rain.

What comes in the pack:
1 x Anti Bird / Anti Rain Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ 
1 x strap.
1 x fixing screw and bolt.
3 x stainless steel legs – 130mm in length (are suitable for a standard chimney pot, however, if you have an ornamental / decorative chimney pot you may require Longer legs  – 205mm in length which are available as an optional extra).
6 x wing nuts to attach legs to main body of chimney cowl.

Fitting:
Anti Rain / Anti Bird Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ is very easy to fit – only a screw driver is required
Anti Bird / Anti Rain Chimney Cowl 8″-9″ will fit standard chimney pots – its circular base diameter is 9” or 230mm.
However, this cowl will fit any chimney pot between 8” and 9” (200mm and 230mm) internal diameter and 10” and 11” (254mm and 279mm) external diameter. Most chimney pots have a wall thickness of approximately 1”.
